ANZCIES Postgraduate Travel Scholarships

Closing Date: 21 August 2009

A small number of postgraduate travel scholarships are made available to provide travel support for postgraduate (research) students interested in attending and presenting a paper at ANZCIES.

A travel scholarship of up to $250, depending on the number of qualified applicants, will be awarded to assist a student in attending the conference.

In determining scholarship recipients, preference will normally be given to applicants who:

  • have been enrolled full time in a postgraduate research programme in a relevant area of study;
  • are intending to present a refereed conference paper; and
  • are willing to volunteer time to help out with the conference.

Other eligible applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, the stipulation is that you be able to show current proof of studying on a part-time basis or greater toward a research degree (MA Hons or higher).

Applications should include the following information:

  • Cover letter with name & address
  • Supporting letter from the applicant's research supervisor
  • Abstract of the applicant's proposed conference presentation
  • List of other grants and/or scholarships you may have received in the last two years

Send applications to Valery Jackson. It is expected that scholarship holders be current ANZCIES members and that they will present their papers at the annual conference.

ANZCIES Winter Symposium a Success!

Dr Natt Pimpa and Di Cullen organised our very first mid-year symposium at RMIT, School of Management on 11 June 2009. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation for their involvement in developing the programme and recruiting new post-graduate students in particular. A special thanks goes to Professor Brian Corbitt who was our keynote speaker and for RMIT in hosting the well-attended symposium.

Congratulations to Professor John Keeves who has been awarded the ANZCIES Distinguished Professional Achievement Award 2008.

It is with deep regret to hear of the unexpected passing of Professor Neville Postlethwaite in April this year. A few ANZCIES members have worked directly with Neville in the past and are in the process of writing a special tribute to him for his close friends and colleagues.
